A Journey from Recruiting to Recruitment Tech

Nine years ago we started Hubbado armed with no money, no clients, a white board with lots of diagrams and an idea to build software that simplifies the way contractors are found, hired and paid.

Our original idea to was become an online marketplace or an online recruiter for contractors, where clients could search and hire from our best of breed community, and then manage their contracts, timesheets and invoices, all on the same platform.

As we went on our journey we built up a £10 million contractor agency. Half our roles were filled via the contractor community on our platform, we didn’t need a dedicated applicant tracking system, nor a contract management platform and neither a timesheet or expense system. Our own platform removed the requirement for any external systems. Through automation and some smart algorithms we built all those functions into the Hubbado platform.

Hundreds of contracts, timesheets and invoices were processed automatically every month with minimal manual input. Our admin costs were tiny. And both our clients and contractors commended us for an easy to use system with simplified processes and useful online reports, whilst wishing their other agencies operated as smoothly as us!

At this point we realised we had built something special and rather than keep it for ourselves we decided to adapt the software so it could be used by other recruitment teams, whether they be agencies or in-house recruiters or even MSPs.

This led to many more white board sessions, more flow charts, user experience discussions, and the culmination of all that activity is that we are now ready to launch the Hubbado SaaS product!

Getting brand awareness is one of the biggest tasks facing us now, we need to really focus on our target market and ensure that all our key benefits are seen, understood and are too attractive to ignore.

We know that any team that uses our product will immediately benefit from having their core recruitment workflow in one platform, from posting jobs and managing applicants, to building contracts, all the way through to timesheets, invoicing and payments. We’re very excited about this next stage of our evolution, we still have many ideas and lots of functions and features we want to build into the platform.
